Privacy Policy

Yesha ride booking app (passengers) and Yesha Driver app. Last updated: 17 October 2026.

In short: we collect what is needed to book, run, pay for and keep rides safe. We never sell your data. You can delete your account in the app at any time.

1. Who we are

Yesha ("we", "us") runs a bike, auto and car ride booking service in Andhra Pradesh, India, through the Yesha app, the Yesha Driver app and the Yesha website. For any privacy question or request, use Help in the app or email business@yesharides.in. Website: yesharides.in.

2. What we collect

Account: mobile number (checked with an SMS code), name, and optionally email, profile photo, emergency contact and a password.
Location: passengers: your location while you book and during a ride, to set the pickup and show your trip. Drivers: your location while you are online or on a ride, including when the app is in the background or the screen is off, so nearby passengers can book you and see you arrive. Location sharing stops when you go offline.
Rides: pickup and drop addresses, route driven, times, distance, fare, ratings, comments, chat messages and complaints.
Payments: how a ride was paid (cash or UPI) and the UPI transaction number (UTR) you enter. We do not see or store your UPI PIN, card or bank login. Drivers: the bank account / IFSC and UPI ID you give us for payouts, stored encrypted.
Driver documents: driving licence, vehicle registration (RC), insurance and photos you upload for verification, kept in private storage.
Device and security: app notification token, device type, IP address and sign-in records, used to keep accounts safe and stop misuse.

3. How we use it

To match passengers with nearby drivers, run the ride, show live tracking and calculate the fare.
To take and record payments and to pay drivers their share.
To send ride alerts and messages (SMS, app notifications, voice alerts in the app).
For safety: SOS alerts, support, fraud checks, settling disputes and verifying drivers.
To meet legal duties, for example records that tax or police authorities may lawfully ask for.

4. Who sees what

Your driver sees your first name, rating, pickup and drop point. Your passenger sees the driver's name, photo, vehicle, rating and live location during the ride. Phone numbers are only used for calls about the active ride.
Service providers who run parts of the service for us: cloud hosting (DigitalOcean), file storage (Cloudflare), maps, place search and addresses (Google Maps Platform), app notifications (Expo / Google Firebase) and SMS. They may only use the data to provide that service.
Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.

We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

5. How long we keep it

Detailed GPS points of a ride: deleted after 90 days. A driver's last known location: deleted after 1 day offline.
Ride, payment and payout records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
When you delete your account (Account → Delete my account), your name, email, photo, saved places, password and sign-ins are removed at once. Ride and payment records are kept without your profile for the legal period.

6. Your choices and rights

See and correct your details in the app (Account).
Remove your profile photo, or delete your account, in the app.
Turn off location for the app in your phone settings (booking or driving then stops working).
Ask us, through Help in the app or by email to business@yesharides.in, for a copy of your data, a correction, or to raise a complaint (grievance). We reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

7. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Bank details and secrets are stored encrypted, documents are in private storage, and every admin action is recorded in an audit log. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

8. Children

Yesha accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Drivers must hold a valid driving licence.
